What is the EdTech Hackathon?

The program

The Edtech Hackathon is an event to develop tech solutions to local and global challenges in education. The online phase is the moment where everyone can submit an idea of challenge here. The presencial phase, which will take place on the 22-24th of August at the Goethe Institut in São Paulo. It will be two exclusive days for participants to develop solutions supported by mentors and workshops and pizza.

What kind of problem we are aiming to solve?

The Challenges

Challenges related to education and technology can be submitted online and by everyone, some will be selected by jury and will be worked on by hackthon participants over two days. The solutions proposed during the Hackthon will be sent to the authors and published here.

Who can participate?

Participants

The participants from various regions of Brazil will be selected by the organizing committee. We will financially support applications from outside the expanded São Paulo area and from all over Brazil with a mobility grant.

Pre-Event | Digital Education

This pre-event webinar will showcase the state of the art of digitalization in Education from the perspective of the two German Universities and will also explain the hackathon idea and inform about the program and the ways to participate.

Jury and Prizes

The best team will be awarded with a registration for one representative of the winning team to participate in the German-Brazilian Innovation and Sustainability Congress organized by the German-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce and Industry São Paulo (AHK-SP), to be held on 29 and 30 September in São Paulo. The decision will be made by a high-ranking jury according to the following criteria:

  • Degree of innovation
  • Feasibility
  • Benefit for the educational sector
  • Quality of final pitch
